Lay Everything Out
To start, you should lay out everything that you want to take on top of your bed or the floor. This allows you to see how much you have all at once. Next, you want to remove about a third of the items. It will be hard, but truthfully you won’t need that much clothing. Plus, it will make packing a whole lot easier.
Utilize Space
First, you should place your shoes heel to toe at the bottom of your luggage. A good tip would be to roll and stuff underwear or socks inside of the shoes. This way you can make use of space and keep the shoe’s basic shape. You can fill the gaps between the shoes with small or soft items, such as t-shirts, underwear, socks, tights, etc.
Even Layers
When you place items on top of each other, you want to create an even layer. Whenever possible, opt for rolling up clothes to take up less space. Pants and dresses can be placed next.
Non-Clothing Items
Toiletries, books, accessories, and technology are awkwardly shaped so it’s best to keep them in the middle or inside the interior pockets or sleeve of your luggage bag. Placing these objects in between clothes can also provide an extra layer of protection.
Bags and Cases
Keep your toiletries in a bag to avoid stains or spills on your clothes and technology. Any bag will work whether it’s a clear plastic zip lock bag or a makeup pouch.
Final Layer
Your final layer will be folded up t-shirts, long-sleeves or sweaters.
