What to Do Before Working Out

Exercise is an important part of staying healthy, but its not the only thing you should focus on. Everything you do before and after can greatly affect your experience. By following the tips below, you will feel much better and less tired as your workouts progress.

Here are some things to do before your work:

1.    Eat a few hours before – Aim to eat about 2 hours before your session, especially if you are working out for more than 1 hour. Some suggestions include bananas and oatmeal. Snacks that have carbs and protein are also good.

2.    Drink enough water – Water helps with regulate your body temperature and lubricates your joints. Aim to drink water 30 mins before your session, and have a water bottle handy to stay hydrated.

3.    Complete warm up exercises – Warming up helps prepare your muscles so you don’t overstretch or injure yourself.

4.    Be well-rested – Getting enough sleep means you’ll have more energy during your workout.

5.    Relax – Achieving a good mental headspace get improve your workout experience. Detaching yourself from all outside pressure and focus on yourself.
