One Bottle at a Time

Every once in a while, we get truly inspired by the brands we get to represent and today was one of those days! I sat in on a Zoom call with a vendor today and had the pleasure to learn all about Ocean Bottle™ – a brand I had never heard of before. A truly “refreshing” and inspiring story I feel compelled to share with you all.
Why does the Ocean Bottle™ brand excite us so much? For every bottle sold, 1000 bottles of plastic waste are collected from the rivers and tributaries that flow into the oceans. The folks that collect the plastic bottles exchange them for money and get access to social resources such as healthcare, education, mental health support and financial security.
The stainless-steel bottles themselves are made with a minimum of 60% recycled content. Ocean Bottle™ always avoid composite materials and their products can be disassembled for recycling. Each comes with a 10-year warranty and free replacement parts for life!
The company was started in 2018 by two students that met at a business college in London who started out with the mission of 1000 bottles being collected for every bottle sold. They designed the bottles in Norway and then headed back to the UK for investment funding. Advisors told them 1000 bottles was too many and that they were giving away too much, but they insisted as they wanted each sale to make the greatest impact possible.
What is truly new though is that these bottles come with an NFC chip on the bottom and if you download the app, and refill your favorite beverage at a participating refill station, the collection of another 100 bottles is made on your behalf! As this brand is relatively new to North America the list of refilling stations is now actively growing like it did in Europe.
The bottles come in either a 17oz or 34oz size and come with dual openings for effortless filling and cleaning, complemented by a secure twist lid with an anti-leak seal. The silicone loop ensures easy carrying convenience making it an ideal choice for those on the go.
The bottles also maintains drink temperatures, keeping them hot for up to 6hrs and cold for an impressive 18hrs.
