Wireless charging allows smartphone users to ditch the charging cords and wall adapters, allowing for a seamless charging experience, but how does it actually work?
Wireless charging relies on the principles of electromagnetic induction, a process that involves the transfer of energy between two objects through a magnetic field. There’s a transmitter coil in the charging pad that sends out a signal, when the signal is received by the smaller coil in a compatible smartphone electromagnetic induction starts.
Electrons then start to move around the coil, this movement generates a magnetic field that the smartphones coil senses. The electrons then are trapped and then start to move around the smartphones coil. This movement of electrons is the electricity that powers the smartphone.
