Get out your grill master apron, spice rubs, and drink pitchers. It’s the backyard BBQ’s time to shine. Below are some tried-and-true steps to become the talk of the block.
Self-serve drink station: If you’re doing premixed, bottled, or canned drinks, have somewhere to put them all in one place. Plastic cups, ice, and a towel to clean up any spills are must-haves and keep people from tracking dirt into your kitchen.
A balanced plate: The grill is the star of the show; food that’s served hot, has some heft, and is usually savory needs sides that can cut through the fat and add that acidic, crisp, and cool balance. Potato salad, vinegar-based coleslaw, grilled watermelon wedges, fruit salad, and pickled cucumbers are all great additions to any plate. Just make sure the plate is sturdy!
Keeping your yard clean: There will be plates, forks, cups, and napkins that you don’t want littering your lawn. Set up a garbage area with a spot for bottles and cans and a spot for any garbage, and keep any refill bags nearby.
Tunes: Music should be the underlying energy, not the star. Find that volume sweet spot by going to the furthest part of your yard, and if you have to raise your voice, turn it down.
Creating the perfect playlist is another conversation altogether, but a pre-made one works just as well. Just be sure to have a good mix of crowd-favourite genres and decades. And if you’re feeling fancy, use two small speakers in opposite corners at lower volumes to create a sound base that won’t deafen your guests.
Get those backyard tunes going with this week’s feature, the Wireless Charging/Party Light Speaker. Call us at 306.249.4318 to place your order. We’re happy to answer any questions you have.
